A baby Shower

We received our first invitation to a baby shower since finding out we were pregnant to Michaelynn and Terrance’s baby shower. Since trying to get pregnant I have had the hardest time going to these showers. The first one I went to since trying to conceive was about 6 years ago and about 10 out of the 12 or 14 women that were there were pregnant. It was a great shower and everyone was really nice, but I remember going home and crying for hours on Shawn’s shoulder. I wanted to badly to be one of those women that were pregnant. Just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye.

While in the past I did not want to go to Babies “R” us to shop, this time I was glad to go there to shop. Shawn and I gladly went in with our heads high and had a LOT of fun picking out a gift.  Since they are not finding out the gender of their baby we ended up getting them a duck outfit and duck towels…cute!

I rode to the shower with a friend and her husband because Shawn had to work. It was a co’ed baby shower so men were invited too. It was fun being able to talk about being pregnant and just the fact that I was finally okay with baby showers. Once we arrived I realized I was the only other person pregnant there.  I had fun playing the games and talking baby stuff. They even wanted to take pictures of the 2 pregnant ladies. That was so cool to me. I mean this was the first time that I was in a “pregnant” picture! This completely made my day, even though my belly looked bigger than hers. See picture below.

I actually had fun for the first time at a baby shower! It was so nice to go home and not want to cry my eyes out wishing that I was pregnant because I am!!
